I AMsterdamned

Sorry for the limited pics this round. Picked up a new camera and was playing with it. I'll try to get on the computer and add pics soon, though the camera IS wifi enabled....if I can find directions in English, hahaha.

So, I know I'm not the only adult tourist who went to Amsterdam with zero intent to partake, but from where I was staying it sure seemed like it. Sorry guys but there wasn't a thing there to partake in that I hadn't already done and gotten out of my system decades ago. The good news however is that after skipping museum after museum in prior stops because of over inflated fees, Amsterdam was my make up for it town, thanks to the city card.

Besides some of the off the cuff museums like the Tulip museum and the Houseboat museum, I also hit the Museum of Modern Art & Design, the Van Gough Museum, and the Anne Frank House. The only museum I have pictures from is the MMAD. Good thing I got the Van Gough pic there, as photos were a no-no at his museum.

I also took a really nice canal cruise (included with the city card as well), and managed to track down a local fresh market. THAT would be the source of the whole pumpkin soup garnish surprise....

If I make it back, I know where I WON'T be staying... the hostel was literally an over priced, rodent infested flop house. But the kids bunking up with me were great.

Don't know why but had a bit of trouble with my super secret spidey navigation powers here at first. In the end, when walking, if you can remember which direction the train station lies in, and count canals, it's a piece of cake.
