There's both so much beauty and still so much pain in Belfast. Reminders of the not so distant past. 80' tall walls still remain to seperate the two sides, and if you're on the wrong side of the gate when it closes, it will take quite some time to find your way home. As my taxi driver put it, things are a little better, and you hope for a better future for your children, but it's still a bitter pill to swallow knowing former "terrorists" are now in the government.
All I know is that I'm once again reminded of both just how lucky we are in the US, and how spoiled we are as well.
