Paris: Part Deux

of my European adventure, I've returned to the scene of the crime. Because I still have several THOUSAND pictures to sort thru for posting, I will try to post from Gay Paris on a daily basis. Feel free to follow along as I venture into my final escapade and seek out the gardner's autograph for my most deserving offspring. And any other trouble I manage over the next few days.

P.S. Someone want to get the American Embassy on speed dial now, you know, just in case.

P.S.S. As they still haven't resolved my two frozen blog posts here, pics can be seen on my FB page. Just look for Hawgwld N Hartlss.

Bordeaux Bound

Well, as it happens, during my last mad dash, I stopped just short of the Spain/France border. I ended up staying on the train until San Sebastian and got off there.  It was definitely one of my smarter decisions. Spent the last four days there exploring, and had a great time. I probably could have easily spent the rest of my time in Europe there, but the weather told me it was time to move on. Thus I'm on my way to Bordeaux, France. I have to say, as much as I loved Barcelona and San Sebastian and the people in both locations, the employees of the spanish rail system left a very bad taste in my mouth. You know it's bad when even the locals tell you how useless the employees are. But alas, I'm back in France now.

Put a fork in me...

I'm so done with Spain. As much as I loved Barcelona, Valencia was as much of a disappointment. And traveling out of there ha been a royal pain in the ass. It started with the ticket guy making a reservation for a train that departed from a completely different station,  and went down hill from there. I'm now sitting in the Madrid station an waiting for the train to Pamplona. Haven't yet decided if I'm going to get off there or go on to San Sebastian,  but at the rate things are going, I may just head back to France or Germany and spend the rest of my time there.

Barcelona or Bust.

It took all day on the train, but I made it to Barcelona without incident. A guge part of that is likely due to the billet agent back in Nice. With all the traveling I've been doing, and often on train with connections and that require reservations, he was the first person to actually book my reservations for the full length of the trip.

Just a reminder, until Blogger can figure out what is going on with my frozen posts,  I won't be posting any here. BUT, if you want to see pic of the trip, look me up on Facebook. I have my profile set a public for the duration of the trip, so you should be able to see the pics. If not, leave a comment here. Maybe I  can do post updates with a link to the photo albums or something. Anyway, look for Hawgwld N Hartlss on Facebook if you want to see the pics.

At this point I'm thinking it'll just be quicker and tons easier to just post albums of pics on FB. So, if you want to see the pics and see what I'm up to for the rest of the trip, just look for me there.... Hawgwld N Hartlss on Facebook.

St Demitrius Church

St Demitrius Church in Thessaloniki, Greece is known for the crypt/catacomb underneath it. It also holds the remains of St Demitrius as well as two other saints. St Gregorius Callides and St Anyasia. As with many churches of it's age in the region,  it was for a time used as a mosque. During this time, holes were oft3n drilled into the walls in an attempt to destroy the frescos and mosaics. Also, as witany structures, it was built on top of the remains of other, older structures.

Posting Problems.

Just an FYI, I have been holding off on posting updates because I have  blog entry on Thessaloniki, Greece that seems to be stuck some where in cyberspace. As it still hasn't been resolved, I will skip it and move on, but with caution.
